Bag prices are built to be hard to compare. We exist to make them easy, and to be honest about what actually tastes good.
We Try Coffee prices thousands of coffees across UK retailers by the cup, not the bag, so the genuinely cheap ones are obvious. Then we taste them, labels covered, same dose, same water, and tell you the truth about what we poured.
How we price
Every coffee is costed on the same basis: an 18g espresso dose for beans and ground, per pod for capsules, per serving for instant, so a supermarket tin and a specialty bag finally compare like for like. We track the price across every retailer that stocks it and show the cheapest.
How we test
We taste blind. Labels are covered, the grind and dose are held constant, and we only ever score a coffee we have actually had in front of us. A high price never buys a high score.
How we stay independent
No roaster pays for a mention or a score. Where a link earns us a commission we say so, and it never changes where a coffee ranks. The cheapest per cup always sits at the top.
