This policy explains what information We Try Coffeecollects, how we use cookies, and the choices you have. In short: we don’t make you sign up, we collect as little as possible, and any optional cookies are set only with your consent.

Who we are
We Try Coffee is a UK coffee price-comparison website at wetrycoffee.com. For the purposes of UK data-protection law, we are the data controller for this site.
What we collect
You can browse the whole site without an account, and we don’t ask you for personal details. We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage information — such as which pages are viewed and the type of device or browser used — to understand how the site is used and to improve it. Our hosting provider may also keep short-lived server logs (including IP addresses) for security and reliability.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies, grouped into four categories. Only the first is set automatically; the rest are set only after you agree through our cookie banner.
Strictly necessary— needed for the site to work, including the cookie that records this very choice (wtc_consent, kept for 12 months) and our host’s security cookies. Functional— remembers preferences such as the comparison view you last used, and loads the interactive coffee-shop map from Mapbox, which stores a session identifier on your device and receives your approximate location as part of requesting map tiles. Decline it and the map is replaced by a plotted diagram that loads nothing from anyone else. Performance and analytics— Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, which measure which pages are used and record anonymised session replays (mouse movement, clicks and scrolling) so we can fix what confuses people. Targeting— measures whether a click through to a retailer led to a purchase. We do not run retargeting or display advertising, and we never sell your data.
Tags are loaded through Google Tag Manager and held under Google Consent Mode until you agree, so nothing optional runs before you choose. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie settingslink in the footer of every page. When you follow a link to Amazon, Amazon may set its own cookies to attribute a resulting purchase to us — those are governed by Amazon’s own privacy and cookie notices, not ours.

We Try Coffeeis a participant in the Amazon Associates programme and earns a commission from qualifying purchases made through links on this site. This never changes how we rank coffees — the cheapest price per cup always sorts to the top. Once you click through to Amazon, anything you do there is handled by Amazon under its own terms.
Services we rely on
To run the site we use a hosting and content-delivery provider (Vercel), a database provider (Supabase), and the Amazon Associates programme for retailer links. With your consent we also use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd) and Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd) for analytics and session replays, and Mapbox (Mapbox Inc.) for the interactive coffee-shop map. Each only processes the limited information needed to provide its service, and analytics data may be transferred outside the UK under the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you, and object to certain processing. Because we hold little to no personal data, most requests are quick to resolve. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site grows — for example, when we add analytics or new features. The “last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
