The best coffee under £10

A tenner buys anything from 200g of speciality beans to a kilo of a very decent blend. The gap between those is the whole point.

Updated 31 July 2026Written by the We Try Coffee team

Inside the same tenner, the price per cup can vary by a factor of three. Most of us shop to a budget per pack rather than a target price per kilo, which is a perfectly reasonable way to buy, as long as you know what that tenner is quietly buying you.

Same tenner, four times the coffee at one end of it. If you want the most coffee for the money, the answer is always the largest pack you can finish in six weeks.

How to spend a tenner well

  1. Decide on grams first, not on the bag that looks nicest.
  2. Check the price per 100g or per kilo, which does the comparison for you.
  3. Only go under 500g if you are trying something new or you drink very little.
  4. If you are close to a free-postage threshold, adding a second bag is usually cheaper per kilo than paying for delivery.
