West MidlandsCoffee shops in Birmingham
Birmingham's independent coffee is spread out rather than packed into one district. There is a cluster around New Street and Colmore Row, another in the Jewellery Quarter, and student cafés out in Selly Oak. Java Roastery, which began as Java Lounge in Moseley in 2005, roasts in the city and runs four coffee houses.

Areas of Birmingham
An area gets its own page once enough of its venues are verified to be worth one. Until then the venues are listed here directly, because a card that only leads to a thinner copy of this list is a dead end.

What coffee costs in Birmingham
What a Birmingham café charges depends mostly on where it pays rent. A coffee bar a few minutes from New Street station competes for commuters and office workers, while a café in Selly Oak serves a student neighbourhood with different rents and different customers. A roaster with its own coffee houses buys green beans rather than roasted ones. No independent survey of Birmingham coffee prices could be found, so this directory will record each shop's prices once they have been checked.
