ScotlandCoffee shops in Edinburgh
Three of the best-known names in Edinburgh coffee are roasters that run their own cafés: Artisan Roast, Fortitude and Cairngorm all pour the coffee they roast. Lowdown, a basement brew bar on George Street that buys from roasters across Europe, was the only Edinburgh café on the Best Coffee Shops in the UK list for 2026.

Areas of Edinburgh
An area gets its own page once enough of its venues are verified to be worth one. Until then the venues are listed here directly, because a card that only leads to a thinner copy of this list is a dead end.

What coffee costs in Edinburgh
This directory has no checked Edinburgh drink prices yet, so there is no city average here. The biggest swing in what you pay comes from where you are standing. Cafés on the Royal Mile and around Princes Street sell to visitors all year and to far more of them in August, when the festivals are on, while a café in Stockbridge or Abbeyhill depends on regulars and prices for them. Roaster-run cafés such as Cairngorm also sell their beans by the bag, so the counter price of a flat white is only part of their business.
