Coffee shops in Brighton

Brighton has been roasting its own coffee for a long time: Redroaster has roasted coffee in the city for 25 years and still runs its café on St James's Street, and Small Batch roasts in Portslade for its café in Hove. Bond Street Coffee has served single origins since 2014 and now pours beans roasted by its owner's Sussex roastery, Freda.

Every Brighton coffee shop we list

Plain links, so every venue is reachable without a map or a search box. Pages marked as unverified are published but not yet checked: we do not put prices or hours on a page until somebody has confirmed them.

Areas of Brighton

An area gets its own page once enough of its venues are verified to be worth one. Until then the venues are listed here directly, because a card that only leads to a thinner copy of this list is a dead end.

What coffee costs in Brighton

There are no checked Brighton drink prices in this directory yet, so this page shows no city average. Footfall does most of the work on price here. Cafés in the Lanes and near the seafront serve day visitors as well as locals, and summer weekends are far busier than a wet Tuesday in February, while a café in Hove or Kemptown trades mainly with the people who live nearby. A roaster pouring its own coffee keeps the bean cost in-house, which a café buying from a wholesaler cannot do.
