WalesCoffee shops in Cardiff
Most of Cardiff's city-centre coffee sits in a few streets between the castle and the Central Market, in and around the historic arcades. Two local roasters run their own counters here: Hard Lines roasts at Gwaelod-y-Garth, north of the city, and runs a market counter and a café in Canton, while Uncommon Ground roasts outside the centre for its bar in the Royal Arcade. Mec Coffee was Cardiff's entry on the Best Coffee Shops in the UK list for 2026.

Areas of Cardiff
An area gets its own page once enough of its venues are verified to be worth one. Until then the venues are listed here directly, because a card that only leads to a thinner copy of this list is a dead end.

What coffee costs in Cardiff
No Cardiff drink prices have been checked for this directory yet, so there is no city average on this page. Prices here follow the same pressures as any city centre. The arcades and High Street draw shoppers and visitors to the castle, and match days at the stadium fill the centre, while a café in Canton relies on the people who live around it. A market counter also carries different overheads from a café with seating, even when both pour the same roaster's coffee.
